![]() Damon BracketsDamon braces were invented by an orthodontist, Dr. Dwight Damon. This type of bracket utilizes (sliding door) technology known as "self legation" that allows the wire to slide back and forth within the bracket. No elastic of steel ties are needed for these types of braces. This creates less friction and can result in more comfort for the patient. In addition, Damon braces can sometimes cut down on the treatment time and the number of adjustments that need to be performed. Visit the Damon website to learn more. Invisalign (No Braces)A system that is available as an orthodontic treatment alternative to correct certain types of bite problems. The Invisalign System is a series of overlay templates that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. Drs Hamilton and Dr Wilson are Invisalign Certified Orthodontists.
Ceramic BracesCeramic braces are a translucent tooth colored (clear) material. They are most popular with the adult patients. They are difficult to see on the teeth unless you are very close to the patient. The only draw backs to the bracket is that they are more fragile and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.
Gold BracesGold braces are a popular bracket option. They are actually stainless steel braces coated with 24 karat gold. They are not for everyone, but are commonly used by patients of all ages.
Metal BracesMetal braces are the most common. They are made of high grade stainless steel. Today's braces are much smaller and more comfortable. Therefore they are much more attractive. Most of the patients like to dress up the braces with different color elastics that can be changed at each appointment. Multiple colors are available.
RetainersSome minor orthodontic problems can be corrected with retainers. Retainers can be used on the upper and/or lower teeth. |
